How do you see yourself? Is it base on how others see you? Where do you see yourself 10, 20 years from now? What is your ultimate perception of yourself when it’s all said and done? Growing up in Liberia as a young girl and up to my early teen years, the perception I had for myself concerning life was at a low standard. I had no thoughts or desire of contributing to society or having an impact on my generation. This low perception may have come from family, environment and limited view of what I could do in life and a shortsighted vision of life. I only saw myself growing up, having a family and living the regular life. What I mean by the regular life is to go get an education, work, religious duties and settle. But this was a vision that was short sighted. If you only see your life from this perspective, I want you to know that there’s a greater calling for you to see beyond your image and self-perception. For you reading this who know Christ Jesus; you know that he is the visionary of visionaries. Acts 2:17 "'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. When the spirit of God is pour out there is prophesy, visions and dreams. Prophecy for all people sons and daughters, sons and daughters, visions are release to the young men and the old are dreamers like Martin Luther king; they speak it but don’t see the manifestation of it. When I encounter Christ and his spirit was pour upon my flesh, I started to have a clear picture of my life, the eye which is the light of our bodies started to become light and the darkness in me could not comprehend, and destiny became clear. I started to see the power of God in my life and how far he can take me if only I let him. As of now, I see myself as one who can impact my entire generation and leave a mark; I am not an ordinary person; I am more than a wife, mother, daughter, I am an ambassador of the Kingdom of God. Philippians 4;13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The only thing that can stop you from going further in what God has called you to do is fear and the limitation you put on yourself and those limitations birth out of the thoughts you think.
I leave you with these words: You have potential, you can impact your generation, your life is not ordinary, so you must stand up and fulfilled all that God have called you to do.
Prayer: Lord help me to see myself as you see me so that I can fulfill the call upon my life.
