After being away for a while due to the birth of our baby girl, I am excited to be back on track with our monthly post.....

I love my Christian brothers and sisters but this topic was impressed upon my heart by the Holy Spirit and I hope it helps us all improve.

Have you been promised something and never got it? Have someone made a promise to you and disappointed you? Have you waited on someone that promise you something but they never showed up? Have you failed to meet up with the promises you make daily to those around you?

We have all been disappointed by others and we ourselves have disappointed others as well whenever we failed to fulfill the promises we make. These promises can be as simple as I will call you back tomorrow, I will come by today or I will give you a ride to church. If as a believer you failed to be trusted with these little things by your fellow man, how then can you be trusted with much?

This is a reminder that we are held accountable for our words. If you promise something and you cannot fulfill that promise at the said time, it is important to communicate that to the individual or group of people.

According to Matthew 5:37, 37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

We cannot continue with such a mindset as Christians, but let our Yes be YES and our No be NO so that we do not commit sin because if we say anything other than those it is driven by the evil one.

I pray that as you read this blog, you will be held responsible for promises you make to others, and as you do so those in your surroundings will count on you. I pray that you have a change of mind and be renewed in your speech.

God bless all of you; thank you for following our monthly blog.
